Good Flower Farm: Feeling Grateful

Posted by Catherine Frerker on

With Thanksgiving right around the corner, we at Green Life Trading Co. are feeling extra thankful for the innovative, sustainable brands we get to work with. Good Flower Farm, based up north in Bayfield, WI, is new to Green Life, and we are so excited to work with them! You can find their natural deodorant stick online or in the store now.

So, what makes Good Flower Farm so sustainable?

Good Flower Farm is a small business specializing in body and skincare products. They grow many of their own herbs on a ½ acre organic, regenerative farm near Lake Superior, and these herbs then go into handmade products like their Lavender Tea Tree deodorant! Other ingredients are sourced from small organic farmers or ethical suppliers. Their packaging is all designed to be reused, recycled, or composted, and their deodorant sticks are made of biodegradable paper. They also strive to minimize waste in their production process. From their website–

"You’re probably heard of the “3 Rs” - “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.” We do our best to take things a couple steps further by Rethinking, Reimagining, and Repurposing before we get to the other three."

They are also a member of 1% for the Planet and do not do or support any animal testing. Packages are even delivered to the post office on foot to avoid unnecessary emissions!

When selecting products to bring into Green Life, there’s a lot of criteria needed to meet our high sustainability and quality expectations, so it can be hard to find local businesses that check all the boxes. Good Flower Farm meets our expectations and more! You can learn more about them here: Good Flower Farm

Why we love this deodorant

This deodorant works because it contains naturally deodorizing arrowroot powder, not aluminum or baking soda. Since aluminum and baking soda can cause skin irritation, this is a great product for people with sensitive skin. It’s scented with essential oils, and the Charcoal Citrus formulation also contains activated charcoal which is absorbent and may leave you a little dryer.

The formula is very similar to our deodorant cream, but in stick form, so you can decide whether you prefer applying stick deodorant or if you like refilling your jar with bulk deodorant. Either way, you’re on your way to sustainable and fresh-smelling pits.
