At Green Life Trading Co, we believe that sustainability isn’t an exclusive club. It is the role of our Outreach Specialist to put this ethos into action by creating engaging materials for and attending offsite events to promote Green Life and our values. 

Location

Training is in-person. Once trained, this role involves traveling to events across Wisconsin and the Chicago area. Outside of events, work may be done remotely or in-person with occasional in-person requirements.

Wage

$16.00/hour + 5% Weekend Pay Differential 

Hours

5-15 hr/month. Hours vary by season. The Outreach Specialist can expect to work between Monday-Friday and an occasional weekend and evening. 

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, proactive attitude
• Comfortable with public speaking
• Professional written and verbal communication skills
• Basic computer literacy, including Google programs and Canva
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Ability to multi-task and practice efficient time management
• Interest in circular economies, sustainability, and education
• Access to a car or cargo bike is helpful but not required

Responsibilities

• Manage events schedule
• Coordinate events with community partners
• Table and give presentations at conferences, trade shows, and other community events
• Lead preparations and load in/load out before and after events
• Create educational materials and presentations for events (e.g., PowerPoints, printable graphics)
• Manage and maintain the tabling box program for community partners
• Manage donation requests
• Support Earth Day Fair planning and execution

Physical Demands

• Drive, bike, or bus to events
• Stand for the duration of an event
• Continuously walk around all areas of the event space throughout shift
• Lift, place, and arrange items on shelves and racks
• Bend down and reach above head
• Climb and descend a ladder
• Individually lift up to 49 pounds
