Meet Erleia: Sustainable Skincare That Actually Works

Posted by Tabitha Houghton on

If you haven't visited Green Life Trading Co. in a while, you might notice some exciting new products on our shelves--or shop page. One of my favorite new additions is the Erleia Face Balm. As a Wisconsin girl with dry skin, I know the importance of a good moisturizing routine, especially in winter, and Erleia's Face Balm, Lotion Stick, and Foot and Heel Balm are all wonderful additions to a daily skincare routine. Along with being women-owned, AAPI-owned, and made in the USA, Erleia stands out as a brand not only for their high-quality formulas but also for their commitment to sustainability.

What Makes Erleia Sustainable?

Erleia packages their products in sturdy paper tubes that function like a push-pop. The tube is coated internally with plant-based wax, allowing the push-pop mechanism to slide easily while being entirely biodegradable. Disposal is stress-free, throw it in your (or our store's) compost bin and you've enjoyed excellent skincare completely waste-free!

Erleia also partners with 1% For The Planet, committing 1% of annual sales to vetted environmental organizations. And of course, all of their products are cruelty-free and never tested on animals.

Why I Love This Face Balm

I recently picked up the Acne Fighting Face Balm while trying to curb a breakout, and I was thrilled with the results. After using it for just a few days, I could see that my skin was looking less red and irritated, and the breakout was clearing up. The main acne-fighting ingredient in the balm is tea tree oil, which is naturally antibacterial and anti-inflammatory. The balm has a pleasant, light tea tree scent and melts into your skin, leaving you feeling hydrated but not oily.

I can't help but rave about the packaging—it's truly one of my favorite features. In the past, I've used products in paper tubes that softened and got crushed over time, but the Erleia tube is sturdy and perfect for travel. I'm often rushing in the morning, throwing my face balm in my bag and applying it in the car. I love that this formula and packaging align with my sustainable ethos while allowing me to find moments for self-care even during busy mornings.
