Rice straw, a byproduct of rice farming, is so abundant that it is often burned after the rice harvest. This burning process is a major contributor to the high levels of air pollution in South and Southeast Asia.

Separate binding string from rice straw, toss the rice straw in your Green Box or at home compost. For faster results, cut the straw into smaller pieces.

The binding string can be sent to the landfill or repurposed.
