Golden milk, or Haldi Doodh as it is known in India, is a turmeric based tea in the Ayurvedic tradition. Originally a simple combination of cow’s milk, turmeric, black pepper, and oil, this rich drink has evolved to include other healthful spices and flavorings such as ginger and cinnamon.

Add 1 tablespoon of tea to 8 oz of boiling water and steep for 3-5 minutes.

Alternately, put 2 Tablespoons in a medium saucepan with milk or milk alternative and gently simmer for 10-12 minutes for a more traditional, stronger decoction.
